Yamashiro Daidengaku
This year Yamashiro Daidengaku will be performed on 08/02-03.
Daidengaku is a modern revival of dengaku, a dance that has been popular from the Heian (749-1185) to the Muromachi period (1338-1573), and it is performed in Yamashiro Onsen by local people every summer. The lively rhythms and leaps, the gorgeous costumes, the brilliant sound of flutes, and the flames of the torches always bring new emotions and great excitement to town.

Date and time: 2 (Sat) and 3 (Sun) August 20:00-21:15
Venue: In front of Hattori Shrine, Yamashiro Onsen *5 min walk from Mukayu.
You can go out after dinner to see the performance. Paid seating is also available.
